Bariatric Weight Loss Center To Be Set Up on Black Sea Coast

We are an early stage startup that will serve as a full service “medical tourism” agency. It will focus on helping UK patients receive weight-loss bariatric surgery.

Expected to be a $40 billion industry by 2020, medical tourism provides patients with the opportunity to receive top quality medical services in foreign countries at lower prices than in their home country. Market indicators in the UK show that the prospects for medical tourism have great potential over the next decade and beyond.

As the number of individuals with severe obesity continues to increase around the world, various countries are beginning to seriously look at the challenges of providing bariatric surgery to an increasing number of patients who desperately need treatment. For patients with obesity and type-2 diabetes, bariatric surgery is by far the most effective treatment - it is, indeed, the only form of treatment that can put patients into full long-term remission (see appendix 9.1).

It has been estimated that there are about 1.2 million people who fit the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)’s criteria for obesity surgery in the UK, but there is no way that the NHS can cope with such a figure.
