If a bottle with a RO (Reverse Osmosis) base is slowly pushed into sea-water (or impure-water), the manual pressure will force pure water to slowly seep inside the bottle from below, through the semi-porous RO membrane at the bottom of the bottle. Although the rate of desalination / filtration will be very slow, it will be a life-saver in emergency situations. Also, there will be no need to boil the water to kill water borne pathogens as Reverse Osmosis Membranes will allow only pure water to seep inside.

It will be the cheapest desalination / filtration kit in the world. It will also be very portable (easy to carry along on an expedition), compared to existing household-filters based on R.O. Since most people carry water-bottles on their journey, a Bottle-Shaped RO Filter will become indispensable for every household.

There is a potential demand for small portable (bottle-shaped) Reverse Osmosis Filters which needs to be met.

Although Reverse Osmosis Filters already exist in the market, they are too bulky to be taken along on a camping trip or a picnic to a remote place. If the filter is made small and in the shape of a bottle it will quickly become very popular.
