The investment idea is to buy products from United States (which are not yet available in India) and sell them in India via an e-commerce portal.

I have a 4 years experience of working in the e-commerce industry and have been very familiar with the consumer electronics market in United States.

The idea is to hold an e-commerce website especially selling all imported goods which are not yet available in India. Products will be all bought from the United States and stored in one of our warehouses in India, from where it would be dispatched.

Since these products are not freely available in India, people willing to buy these products have to depend on their friends or relatives (who actually wants to avoid the hassles of custom duties, etc.) to buy such products. And hence we can sell these products at our prices. Yes, the profit margins could be as high as 50% to 60% after deducting all expenses.

It has a huge potential, India being a huge nation with a people crazy for imported goods. It could be a huge hit if done wisely. Money can be multiplied at least ten to fifteen folds in a years time.

We will take of shipping/custom duties etc. and sell the shelled out cost for double the price.

Being the item in stock and with guaranteed 3-day delivery, we would attract customers to buy products from us. This is the basic drawback of Ebay sellers who deliver in 15-20 days. I can supply you with the links of such sellers who have sold thousands of products by shipping from US to India for double the cost.

Also we wont be buying very high cost products to as to avoid risks of under-lying stocks. We would buy all products under $200 each which would mainly include gadgets, headphones, headsets, mobile accessories, house-hold electronics items, cordless phones, etc.

The profit margins are huge. The profit margins could be as high as 50% to 60% after deducting all expenses.

Rationale for the deal

There is no website doing this in India yet except for 2 or 3 sellers on Ebay. And as everybody knows how much people hate ordering anything from Ebay.

The main finance would be spent on piling up a good stock. Other expenses would include:
