The company has 12 franchises so far and is looking into growing internationally.
Modern English was established as a bricks-and-mortar school in 1998 and expanded through franchising in 2003. It now has 12 franchises in Japan and is soon to open in the UK. With the English language teaching market in Japan dramatically changed due to various local and international factors, we are expanding by developing new methods of supply, new study materials, self-study and web-cam study via the internet, mobile technologies, animation, love shows and creating a brand with proven characters. We believe we can create something unique in ELL and aim to generate $10s per annum.
