A company with 55 employees based on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius imports fresh fruit and vegetables from South Africa and distributes to hotels in Mauritius. The estimated price for the sale of the company is $3M. Setting up a partnership with a foreign investor is also an option.

The Company was incorporated on July 29, 2003.There are two shareholders
The company deals with the distribution of fruit and vegetables to four- and five-star hotels around Mauritius.
Before incorporation, the business was set up in 1996 by the two directors/shareholders.
Since its creation the business has always been profitable.

OUR WORKFORCE

The workforce of the company constitutes 55 employees of which 10 are administrative staff.

ASSETS

The fixed assets include:
(1) A plot of land of 320 toises in a busy commercial district
(2) A new building of 3700 Sq Ft (Year 2010)
(3) 2 New Cold-storage Rooms (Year 2010)
(4) A fleet of 15 Motor Vehicles
(5) Investment with BAI (To be excluded)
(6) Trade debtors owing more than Rs 34 Million
(7) Inventories of fruits and vegetables
(8) Furniture and fittings
(9) Computers

Turnover has been growing over the years.

NEW PROSPECTS

Currently the company supplies only hotels. There are additional markets that have not been explored yet, for example small restaurants, ship chandlers, hospitals and private clinics.
Most importantly, a fruit distribution centre can be set up to supply the local market. The setting up of a distribution centre requires substantial investment which is outside the capability of our company.
