Dealicious is an online platform that promotes and sells deals from local businesses in multiple cities. We negotiate exclusive deals with local merchants and promote them on our website for customers to purchase the deals. The deals are exclusive and offer steep discounts (50%-90%) because they exist on the website for a limited timeframe and have conditions attached to them.
Online deal promotion is a low-risk, high-return advertising solution. Businesses are able to promote their brands and gain new customers instantaneously without any upfront payment. At the same time customers are able to try out new brands and experiences without risking paying much money.
Dealicious is specifically targeting people living in urban areas between the ages of 18-35. A significantly higher proportion of them will be women, up to 70%. The deals will range from products to services such as clothing, restaurants, fitness, hotels and spas. Potential customers are recruited through a variety of traditional and social media solutions such as Emails, Twitter and Facebook.
Dealicious is currently in an early growth stage. It launched in Bangkok in November of 2010 and will be rolled out in more Asian cities. Dealicious’s operations model includes a 3-person salesforce per city, 1 production officer, 1 IT professional and 1 PR officer.
Dealicious's founders are entrepreneurs and established business professionals. The company is led by Dev Appanah, an entrepreneur with experience in the ethical business space. Severin Jan Ruegger, founder of Solosso.com, is also a founder of Dealicious.
