Investment Project for Energy Efficiency Lighting in USA

Opportunity Snapshot

Investment Opportunity

The Company has developed the most cost effective and only integrated solution for commercial and institutional buildings to achieve their energy efficiency potential.

Eutricity, Inc. has developed the most cost effective and only integrated solution for commercial and institutional buildings to achieve their energy efficiency potential. Eutricity’s Eu-Max system is a comprehensive solution that provides the lowest-cost way to realize:
 LED lights that reduce energy 40-85% for the most common lamp, at the least cost $/lumen
 Networked (Demand Response) and sensor-based dimming lighting control
 Building Energy Network (BEN) for whole-building systems interoperability
 Granular sensor networks
 On-site renewables and energy storage integration with the lighting

Market Opportunity
Commercial and institutional buildings collectively use more energy than any single sector in the U.S., accounting for nearly 20% of the total. Lighting comprises 40% of that total. Eutricity’s LED solution targets 85% of all the lighting in those buildings – linear fluorescent lamps.
With our proprietary LED-agnostic power architecture, the Eu-Light System delivers 40% energy savings at the same foot candles as a standard T8 lamp. With network and sensor-based dimming, savings can reach 85% over existing fluorescent lamps. With enough renewables and storage sizing, 100% of the energy used to power the lighting can be removed from the grid.
The Eu-Max system uniquely provides the lowest-cost $/lumen LED lighting possible based on:
 Circuit-specific 3KW/6KW 325/430VDC centralized power supply architecture distributed over existing electrical wiring and fixtures that enables long strings of multiple low-cost/low-power LEDs to be driven at low current, resulting in:
 A power supply that powers up to 400 lamps (low power supply cost/lamp)
 LED lamps that do not require drivers (cost removal)
 LED lamps that do not require heat sinks (300 LEDs only draw 93mA) (cost removal)
 Powered at their optimum ratings, LEDs achieve extended lifetimes and ultimate efficiencies, currently at 86 lumens/watt (only 31F over ambient heat rise)
 Flicker-less networked and sensor-based dimming down to 2% (low-cost circuit)
 Centralized Power Factor correction to 99.9% and 3% THD (ultimate efficiencies)
 The ability to dynamically blend grid AC with on-site DC renewables and storage (without the need for inverters) that feed our DC-based lighting loads.

Note: only buildings with sufficient space for Distributed Energy Resources can reach 100% independence from the grid (Net Zero Energy)
When combined with the Drive Box, sensors and the Building Energy Network server, the lighting serves to enable whole-building systems interoperability with market interaction.
