The total US spend on personal safety and security is practically incalculable. However, there is sufficient data to support the supposition that it is a multi-billion dollar industry trending higher. NCS has initially focused on the higher education market represented by over 4,000 colleges and universities and has achieved a significant US foothold in that space. Additionally, there are over 17.5 million college and university students in the US. With a cost of around $0.50 per day for the PAS device and with just only 1% market penetration yields over $31 million dollars in revenue. A 5% market penetration yields aver $157 million dollars in revenue.
Direct competition to NCS consists of emerging technology companies as well as large communication corporations. Research indicates that competitors are either restrained by the reliance on phone networks or they only have one-way communication capabilities.
The company has a significant sales pipeline and a reference-able first client. Assuming contributed capital to fund operations, sales and marketing efforts, and assuming a System sale in Q4 2011, and four additional System sales in 2012, NCS expects to be cash flow positive by Q3 2012. EBITA for 2012 is projected to be approximately $1.3 million on sales revenue of $4.9 million. Margins are expected to improve in 2013 given higher PAS manufacturing volume and additional sales with an EBITA of $3.0 million and sales of $6.5 million.
