Investment Opportunity

Our TV Ltd desires to put up a Free to Air commercial television station that will deliver its service to the target audience through the DTT.

Our plan is to put up a Free to Air commercial television station that will deliver its service to the target audience through the digital terrestrial transmission platform. Its studio facility will be established in the Lusaka city of the Republic of Zambia while terrestrial transmission facilities will be launched on a phased basis in various cities and towns of the Zambian Territory to achieve maximum coverage of the Zambian audience.

This technical proposal thus focuses on the establishment of studio and transmission facilities in Lusaka.

The studio facility in Lusaka will have the capability of performing essential functions of a modern standard television station.

Transmission facility has been costed in spite of the fact that this component of terrestrial television is envisaged to be delinked from the broadcaster but to be handled by a separate entity in accordance with the DTT draft policy. In the absence of clear guidelines on the matter, however, this technical proposal includes costings for MOZO’s own transmission facility located in Lusaka.

The overall cost of the project is approximately US$ 2,000,000 which is inclusive of technical setup and operational costs for the first one year.

The drivers of this project are desirous to see the emergence of a television channel that will cater across many interests of the viewership and be unmatchable by existing television stations in Zambia. To achieve this goal special thought has been invested into the adoption of essential technologies that provide a platform for video ingenuity with cost effectiveness as one of the guiding principles.

The TV station is envisaged to be launched before the end of the current year, 2015.
