The Ashanti North Gold project is located in the Ashanti Region south of Konongo in Ghana. This region hosts a number of producing gold mines including the 100 year old Anglo/Ashanti gold mine with +22 million ounces of gold produced to date.

The Ashanti North project contains an established NI43-101 at surface gold resource and the potential to host a multi-million ounce deposit. It borders the Konongo Mine and is 25 km from Newmont's new Akem mine which is scheduled for production in 2013 at 500,000 ounces of production per year.
